If I were basque (and I have basque roots), I would also try to preserve my culture. Nobody has the right to erase any culture or ethnical groups, but I also believe that nationalism (patriotism) is a disease that is cured by traveling. I am a citizen of the world, I wouldn´t fight for the independance of my region, I think there are more noble causes to really fight for, for example seeing how people are dying of hunger, while other "peacekeeping countries" rather spend money on military and financial expansion.
Gora Euskadi Askatuta!
hmmmm..... tricky one
someone once told me that the difference between a basque and a Catalan is that the Basque wants to be president of the Basque country, and the Catalan wants to be president of Spain...
that's some bad journalism.. probably some regional paper?
As it doesn't explain some names of groups.. leaving strangers like me in the information darkness..
standing up for your culture is good,
using bombs for it and killing other people: BAD.
I know much of you aren´t familiarised with more of the concepts explained in this newspaper (really bad made but the only enterelly basque written newspaper... i´m sure...)...
I really wanna left back our recent history´s assasinations...
no dude on it...
Only wanna explain you that all the people who was jailed here in Basque Country is not assasine or terrorist people...
much of them work for little € for support our culture and language...
And with this type of police action only you can think is that everybody who supports Basque culture are mad bombers...
* I agree with you 4c... using bombs is a bad idea, anyway, anytime and anywhere!
Thnx a lot to everybody!
No digamos tonterías anda...
No one is jailing inocent people. They don't support vasque culture, they're supporting ETA (the vasque terrorists who kill children, inocent people, etc..)
I was born in Bilbao (Vasque Country). This region of Spain is fantastic, modern, intelligent, amazing culture and history, etc, but the bombs are not that nice...
