is ther a way to stop an image being printed from a web page?
The image needs to be there on screen but not on paper

don't think so.... even if you could disable it all they would need to do is a screenshot and print that out. you're probably gonna be outta luck on this one.

you could full-screen the bastard and disable right-clicking.
But then again, you can still print screen it.

it's not an important image so if they screen it then it's their problem.
it's actually the print screen image that i want to hide.
just wondered of there was a wonderful line of .js or .css that would hide the buggar

You could make sure the rez is real low. that way when they print it, it'll look like crap :P
I think your best bet is to just say 'NO PRINTING!' somewhere on the page.
or, you could make it a flash file in your page that loads the image...

use media specific stylesheets.
ie:
in html/xml header:
[link rel="stylesheet" media="print" src="print.css"]
in print.css:

display:none
}back in html/xml:
