Whatever you get, go with firewire and not USB 2.0. Firewire does a better job of transfering large files. (or something like that)

i've got the western digital 200 gig. werx like a charm. firewire + usb 2.0
i've always had problems with maxtors, and i'll never buy one again.

just buy one of these external HD frames .. you know what i mean..? you can put any HD into that.. they come in USB and FW..

if you're going to put a regular desktop drive in it (3.5 inch), get a western digital, they are more durable then most, and they are always a little slower because they have greater spaces between the read/write head and the platters. Also if it's a 3.5 inch drive in most cases it isn't made to travel, so don't go throwing it around like a laptop, since their drives are made for that.
