anyone ever see any nicely designed classifieds? i just keep running into plain looking sites like craigslist and such, why dont they hire designers??

first because it probably was created by a programmer and second because of because of universal load time.
Third: same reason why paperbacks have remained the same for so many years.

are there any classifieds out there with a decent design?

imagine that!
you're looking for a job, and it's staring you right in the face.

i know this is kinda off topic.. well same topic but in print..
the current issue of Tokion has their first back page classifieds. pretty good idea and a quick way to make $$.

http://jobs.careerone.com.au is ok. but at the end of the day you want the content fast

So if is not to your liking you're not browsing it unless it's well designed? Ok, we'll, tell them to highlight designer's jobs with pink, that should grab your attention.

heheh yeah but I love what you can do with it, I just hate the politics of it.
what I meant was that you dont see well designed classified ads because there is no justification cost wise in hiring a designer to do them, they have artworkers hammering out hundreds per day so no time for design.
