Hi everyone, Im working on a dissertation around the theme of glitch art.. and glitch aesthetics..
Ill be bothering newstoday with questions over the next few months.I could really do with your opinions on glitch artists.. names or famous works..
Im looking at both phonic glitch artists and visual glitch artists.
any names would be much appreciated:

hi Engage, this is my definition so please bear with me...and anyone out there who has a better definition please correct me if I am wrong.
A Glitch artist is someone who actively seeks errors and artefacts of corruption in whichever media they are working with. Like any other artist who would use a particular medium, these artists use these glitches or glitched works to express themselves. whether it be through audio glitches, visual ones.. or a combination of them in a glitched video composition.

surely that's only a minor element of their work though?
I mean... I did that for a DD I did for Orbital... to disguise the looping of the menus, where you get that the pause at the end of each video stream, I put glitches in the middle so it was harder to see the join... I guess that was more to disguise a fault with the medium, that promote it.

thats an interesting point engage,- some of the people I have interviewed so far, see the glitch as an inseprable part of their experimentation process..
