Other Macs disk appears on your desktop.or do you want to do something else? (I'd also like to know if there's something better than Apple FileSharing)

yea basic file sharing also the ability to network into a pc with a shared folder....my guess is TCP?IP cus pc wont work with appletalk...but good info thanks

On OSX you just need to switch on Windows File Sharing in Preferences.
In OS9 it's harder...you may need to use 'Dave' or similar software.
Appletalk isnt really used here...at least in OSX..it is so easy you just switch the stuff on in Network Preferences and you are done.

And if you want to do it from the Windows side you'll need 'PC MacLan'

you can set up a mac share on windows 2000 server. You have to enable appletalk, and it is a pain in the ass to get it to work right.
