But the client loves.
Anyone got any comments on this?

apart from the obvious 'shit' and 'ugly' ones - cos that's all I can think of when I look at this....

Maybe if ALL the photos were of a similar color group it would mesh better.
Red and black are hard on the eyes, but you gotta work with what you have.

just need a bit of work J. looks like you havent spent much time on it. what was that rooponga hills thing that someone posted not long ago?
good inspiration

it's corporate style..
not much to say about it..
i won't say it's ugly at all

I should put up the original one I did before it got bastardised by the client to this.
here's one I did earlier where read and black works:
But for a real estate site - fuck no....

I must say, I think that navigation is good on the top side , it is working strongly above but also the word residential completely needs looked on! it is like me out on the town i can not lie down or stay standing up at all.
hehe when I saw hot deal, I wanted to operate it, maybe all other people believe in the same, a hot deal is always good

I know exactly what happened to you jevad. you fired up a blank psd, added that rotten logo then from there on in you hated it no matter what you did to it.
I'd make the logo much smaller as its all you see, and its a bit nasty.
- sexypixel0
its nice without the logo.
- jevad0
innit...that pissing logo....I did have it smaller tony - WAY smaller...too small for the client apparently....

I think you've got too many fonts going on, and at too many different sizes, it makes it pretty confusing to look at. I've counted 6 different fonts / styles so far.
How about changing the main navigation font to a serif? It would work with the logo better.
The body text font doesn't work at that size - look at the 'ng' of 'exciting' - they're touching each other. Using a different font here would improve the overall look, preferably something designed to work on screen like Verdana.

I HATE when they say the logo is too small. You just want to strangle them

i didnt design this, but i fucking hate it.
I worked there for 3months before being being told in the last few days that my probationary period wouldnt be re-newed. [in other words they found someone cheaper]
I'm not bitter, i'm glad to be out of the place... i just didnt know anyone still used lens flare for a start!!!!!.... as for the image quality, type and general layout and placement of logos etc, well..
ill leave that up to you.
- jevad0
lens flare!!!
w00t
Andy - yeah I think you're right....the body copy is actually trebuchet - don;t know why it's touching like that but obviously it won't when it's html....
- dstlb0
I think there's something in Photoshop you can do to stop that, some setting in the font palette that sorts it out.
Definitely needs more lens flare though, go crazy ;)
- unknown0
i agree. there's deffo too much going on with the fonts. apart from that they'll love it.
- unknown0
I don't actually find the hub site/page too offensive... len flare needs desaturating though.
- dstlb0
The image top-right looks a bit plonked on there as if it's not a part of the design, maybe it needs a transition on the left side to blend it into the page?

TIS CRAP

Don't you hate it when they do that? It's happened to me so many times I never send anything to a client anymore unless I like it. They ALWAYS pick the shite one.
I agree with the comments about too many fonts and possibly trying a serif for nav to tie it in with the logo... Also the branded area above the nav looks like a banner ad, probably because of the boxyness and the dimensions.
