but its the actions and policies that try to enforce the belief system that make them left or right. Hitler was an art and music lover seems quite liberal but by his policies and actions he was far-right.
So its not the issues but how the issue is treated.

Hey cy - you´re sucha poet ;)

no, you clearly don't understand, lowimpakt.
for instance, you have green leftwing but there's also a movement of green rightwing.
they both love animals and trees very very much, but the solutions to environmental problems differ.
sometimes a rightwing solution sounds more appealing and sometimes a leftwing solution.
and there's so much more i could tell.

Most of us probably know people that call themselves socialists, but sounds tory when it comes to 'whats wrong in society today' and others who vote for the rightwing, but express values and morals that are traditionally viewed as lefty. I could name a few among my friends

your a schizo-nik then. You just cant make up your mind. ;)

low, you'd be surprised.
i have done various personal political preference tests, just to see, and the results were pretty much both left and right.

maybe theres too many nazis depending on your interpretation of naziism.

Low - you mean that there are too few nazis around here?
(Bigots + homophobes should come out of the closet now ...) ;-)

Left and right is a basic barometer and within each side ther are many varieties and scales. But it is quite easy to see which way you lean by your thoughts and actions.
Saying I believe in what is correct etc. is too vague as you need to even define what it is that you think is 'correct'. And what on earth is a sane moral. Morals are not black and white. When you go through your views and opinions you can build up the picture of your political stance.
I said politically stale because there isnt as diverse range of politics as there should be. As far as I can see when opinions that dont belong within the comfortable clique the entire thread is removed. What is there to be afraid of.

Yeah they have a nice angle on everything, well I think they've chosen their editors well, a nice mix. You really have to look away from what popular media is saying, because they always have their own agendas and are ultimately supported by some group that has political ties. My advice would be to venture out and see things for what they really are. And like Unfittoprint said, try to help as many people along the way. :)

Speaking of design-orientated sites, I like the way the guys at Pixelsurgeon never seem afraid of speaking their minds on political/world issues - there´s no real left or right wing attitudes there, just opinions- I might not always agree ... but it shows more of the person behind rather than when they're just reporting on funky websites or new action flicks

in the end it all comes down to helping [or not] your fellow man.

I find it fascinating to hear what NT's cross section of public opinion thinks on these sorts of topics... the people I hang out with generally think like me so it's good to hear an alternative, even if I don't agree.
