Ok, so we have a problem with dirty power in our office. If i run my screen at 1280x1024 at the highest refresh rate my monitor shakes and shudders.
I've been trying to get my boss to do something about it but he just tells me that I should work a 1024. No most of you know that this is near imposible especially with flash director and photoshop cause of palletts.I just want to know do any of you work to this resolution 1024?
- blackspade0

bug, do you just get used to it. I find it a pain in the ass. Any tips on how to make it a better experience? and do you spend most of your time in photoshop and flash?

I'm on dual monitors 1600x1200 and 1280x1024 :)
1024x768 is just unprofessional and a false economy that is going to cost your company money in lost productivity. Go tell him.

I do, on a pc it isnt that big of a deal, I can tab between apps.

on my pc i use 1280 but on my powerbook its only 1024.. i only use my pc for gaming though.. so i don't have a problem designing in 1024 (:

the mac is a different story.

thats exactly what i told him ribit. he got an electrician in here to look at the power situation and the electrician laughed when he saw how the place was wired up, network cables entangles in powercables etc.
so my bosses options: buy me an lcd of rewire the office.
he's desision: work with 1024.

I do a lot of work with my laptop, mostly coding so 1024*768 does the job...
- mrdobolina0
no sexy, it isnt.
- sexypixel0
ya, coding would be different, not many pallettes to deal with

develop a twitch or eye problem and blame it on the monitor!

- spartacus0
well serious if it's affecting your drinking.
get pissed at work and no one will notice!

Always... I won't switch to anything else because I assume that the average web-user is at this resolution. Seems to make sense from the standpoint of being a designer.
- sexypixel0
and are you on a pc driftlab? any tricks to overcome the lack of screen space? I suppose learning every shortcut key is a help
