i am trying to adjust the volumes of two different sound objects...it works for the one that occurs first (loop01), but not for the second (nav02)...whats my problem?..:
//in the root, first frame
_root.createEmptyMovieClip (loop01Mc,1);
_root.createEmptyMovieClip (nav02Mc,2);nav02=new Sound(nav02Mc);
nav02.attachSound("nav_four");
nav02Volume=5;
nav02.setVolume(nav02Volume);loop01=new Sound(loop01Mc);
loop01.attachSound("loop_one");
loop01Volume=25;
loop01.setVolume(loop01Volume);//in other frames i have
_root.loop01.start(loop01Positio...//then later in a MC
_root.nav02.start(0,1);so loop01 does play at 25%, but nav02 plays at 100, not 5%...thanks!...

hae you tried changing volume AFTER starting the sound?
Anyway, here's a complete tutorial on the subject, you could check the code in the last examples:

kennybellew it is, Flash God has spoken!

i traced the two sounds...:
trace (loop01.getVolume() + " , " + nav02.getVolume() );
my output is "25, 25"...damn...yes, kennybellew was my guide, i even tried emailing him only to get a autoresponse...unfittoprint, i need the volumes to be different volumes when they start....

i got it, forgot these: " " ...around my MC instance names...it now works....

I developed recently a streaming mp3 player in Flash. I had some problems while testing it EVEN when everything seemed okay. There would be events relationed with the Sound Object that would just not function. I searched on the web for some information on this issue and discovered that the reason is that the flash player in the Test Scene is one of the first releases (6.00 or something), so it still has some the earlier bugs. If tested on a browser with the latest player version (6.079) it would all run smoothly and as expected.
Give it a try, because your code seems ok. good luck.
