this movie is gonna change everything.
I have a friend in LA the runs the movie projectors for advanced screenings. When the HONG KONG movie executives were watching the movie. They were yelling and cheering in there seats!!! They LOVED it!

how is a crappy kung fu movie "gonna change everything"? Because it's all girls? I don't see how QT is going to top Jackie Chan. Puleeze. I'm gonna go rent Dragon Inn... *yawn*

I think it'll be entertaining but that's as far as I would go. It'll be remembered as "just another Quentin Tarantino movie" - all soundtrack and snappy one-liners. Splitting it into two volumes was such a money-grabbing cop-out.

Saw it Friday. No, not the most violent movie ever. That award goes to either Pulp Fiction or any Arnold movie. The violence in KB is comedic at times and varies in styles from Kung Fu to John Woo. As usual, it's typically over-the-top Tarantino fare, but visually stunning and incredibly edited. The Lucy/Uma scene is surreal. It's really amazing work. Can't wait for Vol. 2.

Please. Pulp Fiction the most violent movie ever? No. That award might go to:

Yakuza nipple cutting...

You win Auto. That's straight disgusting.

Ichi The Killer was fun to watch, hilarious than disgusting.

it's a homage to old kung fu films.. not to mention sonny chiba is in it.. and it's hardly serious.

QT: like him or hate him, we miss him. we need him. what else do we have to get jacked about? the focking Matrix Marketing Machine? ok, but I'm no longer 15 so ...
Woo's violence is kinetic and without any realistic connection for me, for real disturbing Non-Jason v. Freddy violence try:
"Idi i smotri" (1985)
Come and See (english title)
holy shit, Russia WW2, Nazis and bodies piled up in mounds. Makes Private Ryan look like Private Benjamin and
"Funny Games" (1997)
Kidnapping is always fun, pretty psychotic.

its grumpy ass desginer types like stimuli and chewbacca that is ruining pv-an i say.
kill-bill looks great, and everyone who has seen it loves it. lighten up.

"Funny Games" is a great one! Not many folks have seen that one.
"Bleeder" is a good, some what disturbing flick as well. The same director did an earlier film entitled "Pusher" which is a real good ride too.
I'm gonna have to look into that Russian film you mentioned.

ranxerox: check this (from imdb)
about "come and see". he pretty much nails it."In all fairness, this Belorussian-made World War II picture detailing Nazi atrocities, holds a special distinction in world cinema: it is by far the most brutal and emotionally draining of all - in fact, a viewer whose senses have not been properly trained would most likely find it unwatchable. Those brave souls willing to be put through an ordeal of almost 2 1/2 hours will find themselves deeply immersed in an absolutely horrifying experience that will not easily subside whether they want it to or not."
its not a documentary. and no kung fu. don't get me wrong i';ve seen every woo flick twice, & in theatres.

have you seen
The Shogun Assasin? haha

At least no matter how far fetched QT gets, you can identify with the characters... TheMatrix is just bullshit... bunch of hi-tech crusties!
