and it's been done far too many times... unless you're going to do something new with it... don't bother!

Sorry Gordon!

pixelart is a genre in itself so I dont think its really justified to say its been done so dont do it, so long as your there not just to rip but to contribute there's a whole community devoted to producing just isometric / pixel stuff, its a style that doesn't really 'belong' to anyone, although eBoy is certainly the most recognisable figure.
As someone that grew up in arcades in the 80's I love pixelism!

I agree... I kind of meant that it's not worth doing unless you're going to add to it.
i.e contribute rather than replicate...
I'm keeping a low profile this week, I don't want any trouble mister :)

i agree w rasko i think - saying pixelart has been done is kind of like saying 3d or helvetica has been done.
Once a style passes into common culture it ceases trying to be different for its surface style and you can concentrate on the content and nuances.

I guess it's an easy style to pick up too... and too many are using the same style... there is probably a great range to move around in within the term 'pixel art' but many people don't...
An article in Computer Arts a few months back proved that.
