Hey ladies & gents.
I was wondering if any of you could help with this problem.
I am on a dual 533 G4 with 768MB of ram, 32MB gforce 2 video card with a 7200 rpm 120 G hard drive.
I keep having issues with flash running really slow. Not only the player but the actual application. I tried to allocate more memory to the application and player but it isn't letting me when I try to change the memory settings. I am on OS X .2.6.
Do any of you have this issue? Is their a way to unlock my memory so I can allocate more memory to flash?
Please help if you can.
Thanks in advance.

you said //, i came : )
memory on osx is thing of the system, it takes as much memory as it needs. i can only give you the following tipps:
use:
http://www.macosxcocktail.com/
(pilot)or open the console and type:
sudo update_prebinding -verbose -root /
to renew the prebinding of the application-librarys

=)
Thanks for the tip. I will look into that.
So no longer can we manually change the memory settings on our macs? I remember when I was able to hit the "get info" thing and change the memory directly...
what a crock of..
Thanks again, anyone else?

nope, no more manual memory changes...OSX is supposed to take care of that for you, dynamically shifting RAM to where you need it most....

So is flash and the flash player just slow on the mac or is it something on my side?
I don't think my machine should be that slow. It is a dual 533. I have 768 MB of ram... What the hell?
I have seen 16MB video cards run flash better then what mine is running at.
If anyone else is having this issue, and has fixed it, please explain how you did it. Or are you just living with a slow flash player and app.
Thanks

i work with pc and mac with flash and in mac is more slow, is a fact.
I think we have to live with it.

flash on mac is slow...all macromedia apps on mac are slow...
but not having (or being able) to manually adjust memory allocation is a *good* thing.

Wow, this sucks.
I am wondering if it would be a good idea to add LiveMotion to the library.
Anyone running it? How is compared to flash as far as playback is concerned? Sucks that their isn't any other flash players out there. Is their?
Thanks for the help all.
