one of my clients is asking me to make a cd-rom (which he keeps calling an ecard)
and a ECARD (which he calls a downloadable flash intro)
how can i explain to him that he has his terms mixed up.. i cant seem to find anywhere that clearly explains these..
and i know that those mini cdrom are some time called ecards..

seems like a pretty stupid client if he ask a professional (that would be you) to do something, and then don't listen when you try to explain what it is that you're doing.
Poke him in the eye!

anyone know where i can get a brief description of a ecard and a cd-rom?

is he talking about those cdroms the size of a business card?
but "ecards" are emailable flash hallmark-style greeting cards

Be nice, but be blunt and explain to him what they really are called, say that it will help you help him.
If that doesn't take, meet him and step on his toes, tell him you have no time to deal with someone who is so unknowing when it comes to what YOU do.

We call that thing a "cd business card". Our lexicon is becoming meaningless, a use for somthing doesn't really warrant renaming it. I don't call my remote control to the TV an ass scratcher do I?

try explaining (you could send him one of those downloadble flash intro thingies to explain) and if it doesn't work out, live with it. there are worse things.
