Hey, do any of you smarty-pants know of any issues with PC's viewing QT movies/streams?
...also, have any of you set up streaming radio for clients? Is it super expensive? Where can I learn more about the expense involved?
muchos thanks!

what kind of issues are you having and is this with the stand alone player or the embedded web player?

mitsu, I have a client who wants to use have video clips on his site. I recommended QT embedded video and another source told my client he had to use realtime and windows media player because PC's can't view QT. I want to say this is B.S. but I'm not a PC person so want the facts before I talk with my client again.

I know one thing, you Titans kicked me Steelers' arses, God you bastards! ;)

i personally would recommend windows medai player just because you may have end users who don't have the quicktime plugin installed, and probably even less with the real audio plugin, but that's just a guess.
but to answer you question, i personally haven't heard of issues with qt on the pc.

haha! I've been thinking about you since Sunday, Jason. ;)
all I can say is WOW. I thought we were doomed in the first 5 minutes of the game but somehow rallied and kicked serious ass. What about that safety! woohoo.

so the only issue is whether the end user has QT installed. Do most PC people have QT? And wouldn't Media Player automatically play a QT movie?
- mitsu0
no, mediaplayer would not support quicktime but it's something you can be sure is installed on the users system by default.

thanks, mitsu
you have any idea where I can find statistics on this? I don't want to alienate mac users either. I have media player installed on my mac but I bet most don't. I can't wait til all this stuff is standardized.
- mitsu0
oh well if you have mac users to think about then i'd just use quicktime

and of course there's always the option of supplying both formats...
