hi there can someone tell where i can find out how to create a cookie which will re-direct a user from one site to another site ??

its the way i want to do it....
is there not a way with cookies that u can set the time they last for ect...

cookies don't do that.

you can set a cookie on their computer that contains the time they visited the site and then use an if then statement to redirect based on the information in the cookie... email me if you want me to get into more detail...

cos i want the users to directly go to an other page instantly
with the cookie set in place there wont be any hassle during the month of reconstruction

um Gerry, sorry to bust your bubble, but cookies can not do redirects.
Cookies store data. They are not instructions.
Now... to do what you want, upload a page with a meta tag. They are easier to make than cookies anyway. Then in a month, upload a new page without the meta tag.

Yeah - you don't need cookies to do that - and a lot of people clear their cookie cache regularly....

cookies weren't designed like that (thank god, imagine all the viruses), Iit's a text-only file, which means you cannot execute code from it, and the only site that can read it is the site who wrote it.
Use the meta redirect instead.
