what are those books called that show squares of different color combinations with a description of what kind of feeling they evoke etc...
what are the best books for this "color matching" kind of thing? i want to keep one near my computer for reference/inspiration for deciding what colors to use 4 projects

Do you mean this? It's obviously not for matching but it's helpful.

There are also color matching systems you can use on your computer or from a swatch book. Pantone, Toyo, Focoltone etc.

Swatch Books? You mean like Paint Stores have?, why not just get some freeware color wheels and what not?

actually, no, i didnt just mean color theory...more specific...what this book does (and its from japan, so i dont know if they have them here) is show say like a red box beside a yellow box which is beside a purple box and then it says "these evoke an emotion of excitement, good for sports uniforms and retainer packaging" or whatever...and that's all the book is, a bunch of pages with tons of examples of that so u can just skim and stop at a color combination you like....seems like the most useful book i ever saw...just wondering if u can get them in north america?
