i am trying to create a drop shadow on an object to be placed in quark.
If I create a drop shadow in PS... i get a "white" box around my shadow and I cannot drop it on a colored box in Quark.
Any other ways to do this? Does ShadowCaster do this? Any ways without using ShadowCaster?

just had the same problem yesterday. thebest/quickest thing i found was to have 2 layers of the same type in different colors. yay quark for being so wonderful.

ok, actually there is another way to do this: If you can make the shadow alone (w/o the image that its supposed to be applied to) in PS - for example a feathred mask w/ a black or grey fill. Then you convert to bitmap Image > Mode > Bitmap and fill in these values - Output : 1200 pixel/inch. Use: Halftone Screen. Then afterwards choose Frequency: 100 lines/inch (persuming your final print is in 300 dpi - the value here has to be lower than the resolution your document is printed in). Save as tif and place in Quark. It will look like shit on the screen, but should come out as a shadow when printed (or even if you just make a pdf)

when you create the bitmap... it flattens the shadow onto a white background... so I dont think it will work.
I want to drop the shaw ontop of another image and gradient in quark... so i cant have any white in the shadow...
