OS9 to OSX

Is it bad for the system to toggle back and forth between OS9 and OSX? I dont mean constantly but probably once every day or two.

It's just bad for you. =)
Seriously, it's just clunky and not ideal. There are some issues with the clipboard and with fonts across the two OSs. Other than that it's not "bad."

Why do you do it? (Does Classic not do some things you need?)

He does it probably for speed issues. Classic isn't very fast.

I have to do it at work because my computer was running on OS9, and we did'nt have a copy of flash for OS9. so on the days that I use that computer I will be using OSX, but other people need to use the OS9 for various reasons.

I ususally start Classic with extensions turned off, cause I intalled OSX over a very old OS9.
