lookin specificly at the 5sp manual XR in dark gray w/a sunroof :)
my BIGGEST issue is theres no way to line-in my iPod :~(

Wait until people actually have driven them more than 60,000 miles then ask.
- kerus0
they've been out since spring of 2002 (yet called a "2003" model) and i need a car next month, not next year.. but thank you..
plus its the same drivetrain, engine, transmission, etc as the corolla..
- Mimio0
Well, you might get a better deal if you buy the Pontiac version. At least better financing.
- kerus0
id rather get run over by a pontiac than own something that says pontiac on it ;)
im in the 1.9-3.9 range for the matrix, and ill only need to finance like 8 grand of it..
good lookin out tho

your buying a car, and your biggest issue is that there is no way to plug your ipod?
you gotta be kidding...
please say you are kidding...
- kerus0
yes. meaning there are no other problems i have with the car at all. i love how it looks, handles, turns, converts into cargo space, and its fuel efficience..
and it was also meant ot be a bit of a joke.
my bad

havent owned one, but i worked on a friends when they first came out.
as you said, they grafted the matrix onto the corolla powertrain. which is a good thing. the corolla is a really dependable car and when stuff starts breaking right around 85k you wont have a problem finding parts for it.
of course with all of the benefits of driving a dressed up corolla you get the negatives. the ride is horrible, and 1.8 liter has no power on the highway. if just drive around town, its no problem, but driving at 75+ is rediculous...you have to downshift make it uphills without dropping to 50. go with the 180 XRS if you have the money.he has about 35k on his car right now and is still really happy with it.

is the toyota matrix the commercial where that annoying bitch pop-locks ?
- forestation0
na. thats mitsubishi.
toyota matrix is the really clean animation a la "waking life" that peels off the car as it is driving and then catches back up as the car stops.

All I can tell you is that the ride is sweet, you sit in like a high cockpit, the controls do glow, and when the car is not running they dimm, love those rain sensors, nice power under the hood. Moonroof is excellent and quiet, power everything up the yingyang. Once the girls see you in it, they'all want you. 18" wheels and performance tires get the grip.
Ipod? who thinks on Ipod, that's why you have the 8 speakers Nakamichi sound system with all lexus cars...wait, wiat a minute, oh snap, describing the wrong car. oh heck, I'm sorry.
To tell you the truth I'd rather get me a Hyundai Tiburon with the leather, V6 and 6Speed shifter, rode in a Matrix, and they're fine, but for almost $20,000 it feels "cheap".
Thinking on Ipod? get a VW Beetle then.

i'm sure no one cares, but the matrix is similar to the Suzuki Aerio hatchback. I have the sedan Aerio and i love it.

i must be mildly retarded cus i drove a 5 speed auto, and i have some HUGE hills near me, and with three people in the car it had no problems at all..
handles strangely similar to my 00 civic suprisingly since it has sway bars and wide rims
to each their own tho..
- Meeklo0
Yeah.. I bet those cars drive well.. but when it comes to cars, my design side is stronger than my usability.. and both of them look as ugly as the new honda van..
oh god..

Tire, Suzuki: 195 / 55 / 15
Now if that ain't hot, i don't know what is.
