So let's say I would buy a computer in the US but I'm in Europe. Any tricks to bypass the import taxes??

I heard "take it out of the cardboard-box and send it as a present" works.
But I'm not sure that your dealer would agree to that :(

i carried mine as a hand luggege" (no monitor of course) and i mailed in advance all the papers...but that was almast 10 years ago... :))

Mark as a gift and as being worth less the £30 - thats all you can do, I got hit hard for something I mail ordered from the States a while ago. Its a bugger when the Parcel Force guy is standing there with your stuff but won't give it to you unless you pay him £70 on top of what you have already payed

and you pay tax on all the separate parts right?
