Hey all.
Ive been making sites for over seven years now. Started out in the 'i-can-do-it-in-notepad' times. Now, in times where flash is unthinkable in a website, what should a designagency have for a website. Just general. We all have (seen) portfolio stuff... now: how should an agency site look like, no bullshit animations like www.2advanced.com , just functional as www.mostasa.com / www.bigspaceship.com any thoughts?

Making websites suck. Don't do it.

I mean, I make websites for a living, and dont even have on off my own. Simply no inspiration and time since i am working on either projects or shopping with the girlfriend ;D. I wonder what would be best to put yourself in a webpresence. Most difficult is to present yourself on the web. Clients are no problem, but to speak of your own qualities and so on... thats tough... for most i think? yes?

Just imagine: you being your own client. This client (you) has absolutely NO idea of what to put in a site expect for an adres. BUT wants to make a brilliant site exept not knowing how that brilliant site should look like. Doesnt that piss you off? :D

If I am a client and do not have a clue as to what I want to convey to my consumer than I should be working for someone else, not in business for myself or should revisit my business plan/model. The web is just like any other medium. "Brilliant site" is not direction nor is it considered to be a proper brand description.

If you are an agency and you are asking for help as to what your site should look like when no one else understands what your company is all about, you shouldn't be working at all. You should be flippin burgers at the golden arches.
Just do what you want to do and not what others expect of you.

After Effects and Flash. hee hee no really you can do a lot. I would advise looking at some of the big name industries and how they go about being minimalistic in their approach. It's the simple is better idea and it generally works. :)

I really wanted to say something here but I won't.

2A is way overrated anyway, do something minimalistic but show your work through that portal.

if there were a specific working formula for how websites should be made, the web would be a very boring place...
wait.. oh.. it is..
damn.
sorry about that.

swear to god, this place is turning into an insular little club. wasn't like this a year ago, people were usually helpful then.

I love that "simple" is the new trend. I get to whip up sites in hours instead of days and get paid more than I did when "complex" or even "orginal" was the trend. Now its all a simple CSS template or two, a header, a footer, an image or two, and boom.
I cant wait until usuabilty is logo, two menu options, and one paragraph only, then I'll have even more time to prentend I'm actually working.

Im also very curious in what websites will eventually evolve to look like generally. Will it be simpeler, or put full of videoshit 2-a-like. Im wondering... Well see, thanks all for being an ass..
