What a dreadful site... puts in work in a really really bad light.

kind of lowers him to just a graphic designer... which I guess he is kind of... but doesn't do him any favours!

Hi Engage,
sorry to disagree, I dont think theres anything majorly wrong with his site. sure youve seen mac emulation before..
http://www.lowercasesound.com/but Im sure many of his visitors havent.
I think if you go to Julian Opies site, you already know what he does. So it doesnt really matter what his site looks like.

I'm not saying that I don't like it just because I've seen it before...
For someone who exhibits in galleries all over the world, I don't think it gives a good impression, the idea belittles his work, the delivery of it is sub standard, and the navigation is annoying.
I'm sure some people don't agree, but I'd expect better. Sorry :)

I'm saying I don't like it. The content is great but it's a pretty shit way to present it, and it's not even executed very well.
If you're going to emulate something like the Mac interface then you should bring in a similar level of interactivity - draggable / minimisable windows, use of the topbar menus etc.
The quality of the site doesn't reflect the quality of the work and doesn't present it particulary well.
