i am trying to get better at using channels and paths in PS. Here is something I put together for one of my classes... does this look good? I mean pulling the objects and composing together?

ah channels, because of my experience of photoshop all the way back to version 2.5, I am pretty familiar with them, although there isnt too much you cant do with layers nowadays.
the cow is well cropped and it looks like there is a little outer shadow on him, the frame might lookm more natural with some sort of the same effect

First the edge of your cow is too blurry. Second, the wooden frame needs sharper details to blend in with the montage. Look at the frame, then look at the grass behind it.

third, the lower part of the cows jaw should be outside the frame. Fourth, there is a 1px line between the frame and the cow that should be blended in/taking off.

i am working on the jaw... i did this in about 30 minutes or so... so I will work on the details now to work on my skills....
the frame is a little chopper because i got it low res at a smaller size than I am using it in... sharpening it only gets me so far

Nice montage SLAZ aside from what montreal said i woud make that thing on the left side between the high grass and trees dissapear,I find it's distracting

and last thing, maybe try to up the saturation on the cow's face a tad bit. It seems a bit bland compare to the background.
