I'm need to get a slide scanned for a full page ad. What should I do to get the best image quality?

get a slide scanner

yep, get a slide scanner.
If you don't have one, send it out to be scanned. Get the print dpi from the publishing company and then match it.
(its usually around 350 i think)
Make sure you get it full size for the page and don't enlarge or reduce in your software.

If you just want one slide scanned, take it to a photo place or a digital reprographics place - they'll charge something like $20 to scan it hi-res for you.

thanks, but I was looking for the best type of scanner. I have access to Nikon SUPER COOLSCAN 8000 ED. It does 4000dpi will it be crisp enough for a full page ad?

yes, 4000 is plenty enough. will be GIMOUNGOUS.
