what's a 19' moniter that you really have a love affair with for making art?
It doesn't have to be a flatscreen, it just has to have fantastic resolution and be specially designed not to give you a headache. and hopefully fit into my 800$ budget.

samsung 19" LCD 191T (one of the top rated lcds, but stuck at 1280x1024): $590 shipped from newegg.com
Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2070SB 22" CRT (one of the best crts, handles very high resolution): $700 shipped from dell.com
Avoid ViewSonic, they are junk and have terrible customer service. You can get a nice 19" CRT for $250. If you sit in front of a computer all day, do yourself a favor and buy a big (20"+) monitor and/or dual monitors.
Oh, and making art has nothing to do with computers or monitors.
