i just got Final Cut Pro 4, just curious if i should worry about plugins, or should i pay more attention to my plugins for after effects.
is FCP more for just the editing and sequencing of my films?

you can actually copy most of your plugz fomr AE into FCP. I got everything from Boris to Final Effects in there and almost all of them work. How do you like 4 - I'm running 3 and thinking of upgrading soon - is it worth it?

I've just bought FCP4 too, although I haven't really used it before. Am looking forward to getting into it...
Anyone got any advice? I'm about to edit a short film for someone.

forget effects and transitions - it's all about telling a story - too many people get caught up in the bells and whistles.
oh yeah and backup duplicates of your project if your moving media back and forth - I've had some issues with the media managemnet tool in previous versions...

I agree. Work on editing and story development, and then use th efilters, plugins, etc to add to it and enhance it.
i never use plugins, it seems. I'm always just messing with saturations, color balance, levels, etc. remember, the story/meaning comes first. There's too much motion design work floating around that's all about how good it looks. it's a shame.
