just moved out...here and going insane with the lack of an artscene out here...maybe i just don't know where it is. anybody?
where in hawaii u at?
I was out there a couple months ago for my cousins wedding. Not much of a design community because it's so laid back. Only art out there is the females. But what you should do is go check out some clubs out there. Mai Tai, Rain, Pipeline, Oceans, Waterfront, etc. And take advantage of the beautiful beaches. Alright man, I'm out. Peace!
There is shit to do here and the Design exists in pockets. The basic lifeforms here do not adhere to Art nor the persuance of it. The vast majority of the State is blue-collar.
The question is when in the evolution of Art did an artist need another artist to make art?
That question said, if you got skills you could rock the Art-Fag Grass Shack here...Welcome.
I see why you call yourself Dustblower
Much love to the 50th state or was it 49th and Alaska 50th? It get confused about that. I don't think most mainland Americans can even spell Hawaii correctly let alone know which Ocean it's located. ;)
yeah mini-trucks, pogs, and Cavaricci's are still bangin here.
Dubs? Nah its all about the 12" momo's.
I lived in Hawaii and went to school there as well(UH Manoa). The art scene is very alive and kicking, just not as prevelant as other cities...check out the aiga for mixers and such to see what the local designers are up to.
Depending on what interest you have you can also check out the university of Hawaii (Manoa) campus.
For marketing and advertising the Pele Awards are a big deal...all the big guns submit their work as well as top students.
Good luck in Hawaii! I moved because they just don't pay enough... :(
nice place that's for sure!
wish i was...
Hawaii's the 50th State, hence Hawaii 5-0
i mean don't get me wrong...i'm not complaining. hawaii is awesome. beautiful ladies and beaches...it's a lot different than texas. it's just the only art i tend to see here is landscape paintings and fucking dolphins. but i'm still glad i'm here.
