a client has asked us to create a flash presentation to be used for a trade show display and then for a cd-rom...the presentation will be a minute or two, and contain light animations, video clips, and voice overs...at the trade show it will be shown on a 50" NEC plasma screen...what i need to know is, can i create this once, and then have it look good and at full-screen (presentation would be in a rectangle covering 80% of the screen, framed by white) on the 50" and when its viewed on a cd-rom, possibly a 15" monitor at 800x600?..the NEC supports resulotions of 800x600 to 1600x1200...would i design it to fit on 800x600 and then make sure to set the NEC to that resolution?..people at the trade show wont be able to get closer than 10 feet to the screen...any suggestions on what to make the flash movie's dimensions?..here is a link to a similar model...:

ok to answer your other question, you might have some video from them from a long time back or something, so I am assuming you want to use that but fade in the audio with the video in some way?

The plasma display isn't 16:9 HD?

yes, its 16/9, the native pixel resolution is 1365x768...it has PC signal compatibility from 640x480 to 1600x1200....

I can't help you other than telling you my experience. We did a slide show for 3 wide screen monitors a coupla years ago. Niether me or a friend in the AV industry could figure out how to change the aspect ratio to anything that would utilize the big screen without stretching the images.
The work around, and this is gonna sound backwards, cause it is... was to scale the images horzonatally the amount they were stretched by the monitor. I have no idea about the specifics of the monitors, and it was 3 years ago, so i doubt you will have the problem, but if it is at all possible i recommend getting the screens inhouse for testing. to avoid any problems.
