Hey buddies and budduletts.
When I watch heavy flash stuff (read 2a) on my computer it really lags a lot. Can this be cured with a new, more powerful graphics card?
Thanks.

does it always lag? when you play games and stuff? Might as well be the connection!

..or a mac.

It's not the connection, It's an old häck. 400-something MHz and I don't even think that there's 16MB of memory in the graohics card I'm using right now. So really the question is: can I buy a new card and be happy a little while or do I have to get a new computer right away?

go with a new computer. You probably cant upgrade to a powerful graphic card if you keep that old motherboard. Even if you upgraded your motherboard, your com is gonna be limited by the processor and you slow ram.
new computer.

Yeah, I thought so... Well my birthday is coming up soon.

Monty is right, if you upgrade one thing, another one won't work, so basically you need to change everything anyway.
If you're low on cash you should check out used ones, a used 2 ghz isn't more than 2500 sek these days. Not even half the price for a 1 ghz.

hehe. My first was a 486 100 MHz. I think that was as fast as they made them for PC's.

damn you were modern, I had a 8086. You could choose between 4 and 6 mhz, but i didn't notice any difference. The monitor was a 12" with lime green as the only color. There was no such thing as a "mouse"...Ohh... good times!

My first computer was like a 33mhz.. the 7" screen was black and yellow. like 800K of ram. no windows.. had to start every program in DOS.

My first Windows was 2.1, came with those huge, soft 5,25 floppys! Beat that!
- lnu0
Oh, i lied. I started out with a 386, monochrome. I only had Snake and MS Money on it so I started making new levels and GUI's for Snake. Yeah baby!

haha I remember when entire games fitted on a soft floppy.. and the most graphic intensive ones fitted on 2. Good times.

I remember playing Zork on a TRS-80 from radio shack and it was an amber screen not lime.. That and playing computer games like zaxxon off of a casette tape.

my amiga 500 kicks the commodore's ass any day! :P
I had five grocery bags full of floppys to it!

The amiga was a commodore
- jox0
my amiga 500 wasn't a commodore 64. honest.
