at the moment im using hooge 05_53 in flash and every time i test the movie the font always looks dead blurry.... what am i doing wrong ?

in the info.. make sure the text is positioned on just whole numbers. no 4.3... it would just have to be 4

+ if u search through the threads on pixel fonts you can find other info. if that doesnt help

it can look blurry in "test movie" but look sharp in a browser.

either that or you have some weird setting in Flash, what version are you using? MX or 5?

...export your txt as "dynamic text" in your properties box...that should solve your problem.

Fits hit the proverbial nail on the head with the positioning thing. DAMN SUB-PIXELS

i've actually been having the same problem in the last two projects i've been doing....everything should be squared away - i.e. all fonts are on whole increments and exported as dynamic, but still the blurries..........
so weird
any new thoughts for the general benefit of everyone here?

drake - but by using dynamic text - no one would see the font unless they had the font. (without embedding)
one should only use that trick if they are using it with a system font that is installed on both mac and pc.

damn you pixel fonts why are you fucking with me
okay I am done.

huh?

just a moment of rage. my pixel fonts are actually looking sharp when they are not being placed on the exact pixel. ie. x 32.1 looks better than x 32

that's the point of those miniml fonts bro. :)

make sure you're not embedding the fonts inside another movie clip that is not on an integer co-ordinate... otherwise even though you have it right inside the movie clip, outside it will be wrong...
Also make sure your kerning is set to a whole number (never tryed that... but might be a reason?)
