It all comes down to education and naivete. This has always been, and most likely, will always be the case.
So those that don't have an education, are naive, or just plain dumb, will be easily convinced of this kind of crap. It goes both ways, but unfortunately (well, not really) there aren't 'positive' brain washers out there! The Republicans have certainly capitalized on this mentality.

there are some very intelligent people out there who are racist. they are even convinced of their own ideals... it's a error to presume you're dealing with illiterate gorillas. Some, maybe - but not all.
- JazX0
freedom of whatever I guess, call them and tell them you don't like it ;)
- JazX0
moth is right about that, I personally know some smart racists, but they still are psycho.

you don't solve intolerance with intolerance... it's that sort of thinking that has put the world in the state it is now... you can no more arrest the KKK than you can arrest the people that protest against them. get your head out of your ass.

The smart ones are usually the leaders out for the powertrip, who find their powerbase in people who are a short a few cells.
It's part of base human psychology to lay blame rather than accepting responsibility for things that go wrong.
Bigot leaders harness this and their followers then have license to blame anything that is shit on whoever is an obvious target. Bigots then get power and social/economic outcasts feel accepted.
The dumptruck premise is basically: Dump on whoever you can. If you are at the bottom rung of the social and economic spectrum, dump on those who are different. Can't get a job? Dump on foreigners! Can't get a fat flat? Dump on asylum seekers! Can't get laid (men)? Dump on women!

it'd all be easier if we all dumped in the toilet ;)
- unknown0
yes vespa, and thats exactly what the daily f*cking mail perpetuates.
- vespa0
blame is a dangerous thing.
I think papers like the daily mail should be forced to have a massive warning sticker on the front page the way cigarette packets do.
WARNING: THIS PAPER WILL REDUCE YOUR CAPACITY TO THINK FOR YOURSELF

A fundamental racist attitude doesn't mean "dumping" on people. Some of them out there value their "whiteness" as a dog breeder might value a Hungarian Vizsla. They would also have colored folk treat themselves the same way. They'd like to retain the variety.
Of course some are just plain ignorant - but I believe no matter how wrong you think a point of view is - you should entertain the idea for even just a little while....

whats your stance moth?
- moth0
My stance? I've talked to these types of people to see what they have to say. It's not all dumb talk. But all the same - it's not for me. The example i posted above doesn't account for love and prcreation. If I fell in love with a black girl I'd have hard time telling her why I wouldn't have her kids.... so it's not for me. But if it was - would it hurt anyone?
- vespa0
the whole concept of race and nation is bunk.
- vespa0
But moth there is no such thing as a "pure" white person and a "pure" black person. Genetically we can all be traced back to the same roots.

hmmm.
No i dont see it either, flag wavers make me sick, I seriously dont want to be from any country - I just dont feel I belong to one and wouldn't want to.
I think there is an issue with culture and environment, people are like water see, they mostly flow into whatever mould rises from beneath them, and I think that some cultures have values and emphasis that are prioritised more appropriately than others.
And as for purity of race, thats just incestuous.

yeah like that pure white burd in the paper that had a pure black kid, and her pure white fella believed she had been sniffing about a pure black man, seemingly she had a great, great, great, great, great, grandmother that might have, pure fucking mental eh??
- moth0
well there you go. that's another a reason why i dont buy it.
- MX_OnD0
I for one am bloody glad my parents didn't subscribe to any ideas of "purity" and being a a non pedigree human neither do I
That said I reckon people who do subscribe to this doctrine are no less entitled to their opinions and would even go as far as suggesting they are given a plot of empty desert somewhere far away to practice their ideology.
- unknown0
yeah good idea MX, theres loads of room on the dark side of the moon for them.
