depends on the program, but usually no because of installed dll's and registry entries created during install process.

yes, but i was hoping there would be some kind of app sorting out the dll's and stuff. I guess not :(

ah shit this is a BIG problem.
I made a stupid partition when I bought this machine, the windows drive is 7 gb, the other is 12. I also have an 80 gb disk.
BUT, the win disk is almost full with program files, so I can't delete anything. And I can't install anything on the other empty drives because the temp file is on the full win drive!
WTF! Is there a way to change where the temp file should be?? Please, help!

jox, just re-install whatever you have backups for on the 80 gb drive and thenuninstall the old versions on the full-drive. hoep that helped.

thanks a lot for your help people!
i managed to solve the problem by changing the temp folder. I've heard this is a pretty common thing, so this is how it's done if anybody else is experiencing this thing:
1) right click on the My computer icon and go to properties.
2) click the advanced tab
3) click on the Environment Variables button.
4) Edit the locations in the system variables portion of this window.Reboot and done! yay!
