My parents purchased a 17" iMac about a month ago. Yesterday the monitor started flickering like crazy. Sometimes it even blacks out completely. I called Apple and they said they had never ran into that on a computer so new. I ran the hardware test, but to no avail.
Easy fix, or do I need to send it out?

Doesnt sound good, had a very similar event on my ibook, I had to get the main board and the logic board replaced.....twice, gulp.
Applecare took care of it though, cost wize.

Sounds like there is some electromagnetic interference going on. What do you have near the iMac?
