I'm want to hookup an older monitor from a pc to my g4 laptop but I'm not sure what sort of adapter I need or if I need some software to run two monitors. Any suggestions?

you will need a video card to support 2 monitors.

if you have a G4 laptop all you have to do is plug it in. go to the monitor control panels and set it up. Too easy. The laptop should have come with the adapter.

i also tried to do the same thing but my monitor that i was tryin to plug in the screen went all grey. what else do i have to do

on the G4? nah what do i click on and what size do i make the res on the monitor
