Before you buy a font from these guys you can try it by typing a word in an input-box. You then get preview which generates a gif-file of the word you typed in the input-box.

www.myfonts.com should be the most comprehensive one, but nearly all font parlours seem to offer this service nowadays. www.urwpp.de even used to offer to send you an EPS-version of the words you typed, but this service seems to be offline now
