I am about todraft a contract for a potential client. I haven't had to actually come up with terms before and i want to know. What is the standard rate to charge for a designa advance. 15%? 10%?

half-loot down, unless you have done work for them before.

50% is pretty standard.
i've charged 30% to some clients whom i was on a more friendly basis with.make sure you have a contract as well that states 50% before work starts and the remaining 50% by a certain time at work completion.

I always go half down. Only people i have been with for years need no deposit.
