This is one of my favorite shows, but Orange County Choppers are tacky and gross. Anybody in the business with some taste will agree. Actually, choppers are kinda tacky, but if anyone does it right its west coast choppers. anyway, had to get that off my mind. thanks for puttin up with me.
SIDE NOTE: next time you watch the show count how many times those guys star a sentance with "I gotta tell ya.." or "i gotta be honest with ya..." its hilarious, it could be a drinking game.

I watch that one show on Discovery called Bike Builders or some shit with Indian Larry and that other big dude. But those guys build bad-ass bikes out of spare parts and shit. Crazy nice!

you talking about those guys in florida that never shower?
yeah, i can appreciate there franken-bikes.

Hmmmm, I think I disagree ER. While I agree that this is an awesome show, I don't really think the bikes are tacky or gross.
In fact I'd argue that they are more pieces of art than anything else. The Comanche bike they just featured was friggin killer!
And how can you not be touched and impressed as hell by the Fire engine 9-11 bike?!
These guys are definitely master bike builders.

my buddies back in toronto do up lo-rider bicycles...
this is just a quick site they had made up for a newspaper article they were in. the new bikes they are making now are so sick...alot more minimal with killer all chromed out springer chopper forks.
in my opnion they're making the best quality cleanest looking bikes around...none of that over done played out east l.a. shit. plus they actually build knowing that they have to be easily rideable but unique at the same time.

I appreciate the idea behind the firebike, but its tacky. like the fire extinguisher air filter, and the colors in the wheels. (gold leafing is cool though) I guess we can just say its my opinion. occasionally they will do things that are a good idea (like the upside down bars on the helicopter bike) but the bikes fail in the end. they adorn trinkets upon trinkets to the bikes and that makes them tacky. oh and the lightning lights on the spark plugs belong in autozone right next to the crome wiperblades.
what i consider a great bike is one that has great clean lines (often is all about the custom frame and body fabrication) a smooth clean look. less is more.

it's their work of art, it's like if I were to say, well 2A is supposed to be the best so I cannot like another website. Screw that, if someone builds a sweet-ass Frankenstein bike then shit I am going to admire it.

I guess I don't know much about bikes anyway, but to me they are art.
You see this cat's stuff on discovery?
Check out "Miss Behavin" that bike is sweet! He's one of those stinky Florida builders, but damn strippers love him!

The OCC bikes are terrible. It's the Disney approach to bike building. The show is pretty entertaining though. Indian Larry's bikes are great, but if you ever get the privelege to see his partner Paul Cox's bike you'll freak. It's all covered in leather, I mean everyting.
Maybe some day they'll do a show with old brit bikes, then I'll really get into it.
