I don't normally post stuff like this but it's really important to me and I gotta say it because I don't want to see this happen to anyone else.

My old housemates took their doberman, an otherwise healthy dog, to Angel Memorial after he got sick (think it was intestinal blockage). He was operated on in the middle of the night (without their consent) and told it went well and he'd be released in a couple of days. He got deathly ill after surgery. It took them 4 days to figure out (after an emergency 2nd surgery) that his stitches had ruptured. He died two days later. I'm not even telling the worse part of the story but too awful and gross to detail...its the most outrageous thing I've ever heard of...some of which includes mixing up dogs and calling the wrong owner to tell them their dog had surgery, telling my friends that "TOBY" (his name was Maxwell) died, and it goes on and on. The saddest part is that their dog was in excruciating pain for over a week.

I talked to a couple of my friends in Boston who told me that their vets have recently taken Angel Memorial off their recommended emergency facilities..wish we'd known this before. Anyway, I wanted to pass this along before someone else is in the same situation.
