i'm looking for a web based image editor (resizer/cropper) that can be easily added to an existing site.
(i want to make it easy for clients of one of our products to resize and crop their images online)
what do you use? what have you heard is good? what is affordable? what is easiest to plug in?

You could check out http://www.myimager.com/
but your best bet would be to buy them a decent app. I have had clients changing photos(!) in MS Paint, and i had to clean up the mess after them. It's amazing how stupid they are.

thanks jox, but i have to be able to plug the script into our admin panel on our site, not use another site to edit their files.

well, i think our old webmaster used php to automatically resize images that our clients sent us. i am no script monkey though, so i cant really tell you how he did it.
as for the cropping thing, i dont know about that.
so basically my response boils down to "i dont really know exactly. . . so uhm... yea."

yea, cropping seems to be the big issue

look up the j-img thing that's part of coldfusion on http://macromedia.com
you can do all kinds of cool stuff w/ images like resizing, cropping, adding text & paint etc, all thru code.
if you decide to look into building an app yourself, drop me a line, i'd be into helping you do it.

Here ya go. This is what we've used and it's worked well. It's like MAGICK.
