Bad, bad, bad, bad kids burned down my classroom and laboratory as soon as I got in country and then two years later they burned down the admin offices. Seriously brought tears to my eyes, both literally and figuratively. Grrr!

Thanks. Ohhhhh man, wow, I guess they burned it down for many reasons. I would say, one, for nothing better to do and two, I would guess as a hate-oriented thing. It's kind of odd, my theory is that once a bad-boy student did it and once just some drunk idiot did it from the shanty mining village I lived in. It used to be the biggest tin mine in the world. Crazy place. :)

Haa, ahaa Tin Tin, man that's funny. Long story. Let me explain, I have a BS in Geologic Science, so after I was done teaching science/maths with US Government I joined up with the Namibian Ministry of Mines and Energy in collaboration with the European Union. I worked as a contractor with this old Belgian dude named Michelle Rousseau. He was born and fled the Belgian Congo, but smart cat and hot-ass, painstaking work. I did some geologic exploration/reconaissance work for Tantallite metal in the Namib desert. Long story short, he and his wife called me TinTin. So it's funny! ;)

ha! cool, funny coincidence.
i do like the site, theres loads of stuff in it. Check out the Travelcatalogue on Tibet, really cool.
I really like the look&feel of the site.
The man who created Tin Tin used to live in BXL and there's a comicbookmuseum over here in a very nice refurbished ArtNouveau building where you can have a look at the original drawings Hergé made in the 20's and 30's.
