problem: some special characters in a dynamic text field (with external txt document) in flash don't show up at all.
i know i have to encode special characters ( look at Macromedia: http://www.macromedia.com/suppor… )
but: é / ü / etc don't show up. blank.
anyone?

well, i don't think i'm the only one with this trouble.
ok ok, it is not the best place to post those questions, but i hoped it would be a quicky...

did you try to post your problem on ultrashock.com? it seem to me they're more focused on flash dilemmas...

ok, i have a solution:
put
System.useCodePage=true;
in the first frame of the _root.
but now: WHY are my animated textboxes with the characters "é" and "ü" for example moving very SLOW ?

sorry kodap, i already know that, but that is not the problem.
if i put %E9 in my external txt document, it doesn't show up as an é in the textbox in the swf...
and characters like @ # $ etcetera are working fine...

ok, problem solved:
System.useCodePage=true;
in the first frame of the _root does the job.
and i figured out that you HAVE to view the swf in a browser.
if i view the swf in FlashPlayer only, the special characters like é ü and å don't show up on my screen.thanks all!
