would you rather trust a company with a sterile corporate looking site, or a site looking more experimental (you know what I mean)? And why?
By "trusting" i mean use or buy their products / services.

?
its always relative!

let's say you want a new car then. The car's auctioned on 2 sites, one sterile site and one experimental.
Would you choose one of them over the other? Why?
- crapmeister0
depends on the product
- jevad0
defo the sterile corporate - it conveys a feeling of foundation within the company - and that leads to a feeling of trust
- Bio0
definitly depends on the product.
hel, it even depends on what kinda car it is. i wouldnt buy a BMW from a crazy lookin place (well, http://I might, but i am an oddball) but i think i'd rather buy a sporty car from a more "experimental" site.
i suppose it boils down to target audience. if you want my business, then something very clean yet experimental would be perfect. but if you want my brothers business, you'd better make it pretty straightforward and corporate.

Well i'm thinking that one of the firms are hiding behind a neat corporate look, because they're really shitty and the car sucks...so they put money on marketing. I'm just paranoid, right?
- unknown0
or is it that the corporate look is quietly confident and doesn't need to rely on experimental 'gimmicks'?
I think you're on a much deeper subject here which is founded in branding and the branding history/perceptions of the company.
ie; what vw get away with skoda wouldn't.
- Bio0
sometimes it is hard to tell what you'll be getting because some bastard like us is gonna be making that Geo look like a space rocket.
- jox0
my point exactly rasko.
Oh.. and skoda + vw is actually the same company now. Hell, Skoda and Lamborghini is too... .)
- unknown0
oh i see, your buying a used car... dont go for the one with the guy in the trilby and sheepskin jacket!!
- unknown0
that was exactly my point in choosing those companies.

ah, yea well I wouldn't know, the car's in Germany. I'm just considering whether it's worth to go down there.
And it's not exactly "used", it's 6 months old, 600 km's on it. But still an awful lot of money.
