from my old g3 laptop to my new g4 powerbook? The guy told me to use my firewire cable to connect them together, but he told me to reboot one of them and press "f" key while it's booting.
Is that true. can you please explain and help me transfer the files? thanks so much in advance.

never mind, I found it on the apple site.

Yes firewire will work great. But it's a "t" not an "f" key to press while booting, then it runs in firewire mode, which means it shows up as another drive on the first computer.

thats the simplest/fastest.. but you could also use an ethernet cable or Airport, with Personal File Sharing... so you can keep working on both while the disks are mounted on both desktops to pull bits n pieces across as you need em..
