Any help will be appreciated.
Oh and yes, I did serach pv-an and macromedia.
The scripts I found are not that good.

Go with the classic...FPI by Colin Moock.

But Macromedia released:

I think that is it. I want to detect and place the right file (fla or gif or jpg)

Check out the one this site uses... Except its scripted to take you to a separate page. I use that one because I can have links to download the plugin or newer browsers...

use the MM Flash Deployment Kit. In your publish setting you can pick an image to use in place of your Flash piece. The kit can help you redirect a user to another page, install the latest player or whatever you want.
RTFM :)

this is nice

you can write in the swf or the image depending on the version of the flash player you're looking for

hmm... but none of these posts work with Safari. First, I turn off Flash in Safari... preferences > security > [uncheck] Enable Plugins
Iconlove - your site still says that I have Flash enabled (but it doesn't work)
MookFPI forwards me to the flash page, but since I've disabled plugins the flash doesn't work.
Mr_Pants, publishing with MM's Deployment kit (out of Flash), the detector doesn't work with Safari.
The examples on dithered.com all say that I have flash, but don't play the movie.
Is there any Flash detector that works with Safari?

there is no script that works for safari...

One simple thing to do:
put 1px by 1px flash movie in first page. In this flash movie, write some actionsript that sends user to a url with flash content. Or to a url with a parameter on end of query string, like ?flash=true.
Grab this parameter in the next page and display the flash content.
If user doesn't have flash, you can put a meta refresh in the same page with the 1px flash movie. The meta refresh can be set at like 2 seconds. So if no flash, the meta will send to whatever page, and you can add parameter on query string like ?flash=false.
Then grab this parameter and display your non-flash content.
You could always just send to 2 seperate pages, one for flash and one for non.

Based on what jgjh151 has suggested.
Create a flash file that's 1px x 1px. On the first frame use the action:
getURL("flash_index.htm", "_self");
Embed this directly after the *body* tag of your index.htm
You can also add your "no-flash" or "checking for flash..." splash image/text to this page.
The idea is that browsers will read the html downwards and so will get to your pixel-sized flash file first [and if flash plugin is present, will execute the getURL, thus loading the flash_index.htm page]. If this fails, the page will continue loading your splash screen.
NB that this simple detector works but it only tests for the presence of a player that is compatible with the flash "version" as defined by your html attributes.
