i want to make a scene showing a series of images with a back and forward button, but when i preview the scene the forward button jumps you straight to the end, any ideas or models for doing it correctly

scenes are bad m'kay?
use loadMovie instead to break up your file into a smaller size...
also use it to load your jpgs

the horses mouth opens to speak:
scenes are a throwback from the days when Flash was a pure animation tool and were put there to aid animators. Nowadays Flash is a much more powerfull tool and with these advances it has evolved away from such a timeline based application so much so indeed that it is possible to build entire sites on just one frame.
Also the SWF (Small Web Format) is supposed to stay Small as the name implies...so the solution is to use many small SWFs instead of one large one...
Flash MX2004 Professional is absolutely fantastic, the mutt's nuts, the dog's bollocks!!
