I'm moving this Friday and I'm mostly packed, which is good. However I don't have much to do anymore.
I want to play some games, but I can't, they're all packed. I want to reformat and give Linux another kick at the can, but all the install CD's are packed. I want to do some sketches for a site idea, but all my pens, pencils, and graph paper are packed.ARRGH!! Entertain me!!

Yeah it sucks. I hate moving too! I mean I REALLY hate it and that's coming from someone that's moved a lot. Sick of it. Travelling and moving is way overrated! Drawing out your sites, shit that always has helped me too! ;)

Thanks for the links :)
I've been downloading Family Guy episodes. It's better than nothing.I always sketch stuff out, then play with the layout on the computer, then build it in HTML and/or Flash. Nothing beats graph paper!

i vowed that the last place I moved into would be the last place I lived until I bought a place... I think I might be lying to myself. When I move I always make a dedicated A/V run, so the computer, tv, dvd, vcr and movies are always the dead last things to go, you never wanna be entertainmentless when you are homeless..

i just moved this weekend...
never rent Uhaul.. never....never
Penske... is the way to go..
its acctually a pretty nice house in a nice neighborhood in Mill Valley, CA right next to San Fran.... I have to rent because Mill Valley is the most expensive place to live in the area... houses start at 500k for a run down small fixer upper... and go up...... this 2 bedroom would go for a cool 700-800k but we got it for decent rent for the area because of the economy.. but to buy.. still high..
but ya.. just moved.. go ta nice place

I help my girlfriend move a few months ago and it was terrible. She and her roommate weren't even done packing. And by "packing" I mean not putting anything in boxes, but move more or less as is.
I signed up to move your stuff, not pack your dishes! It took 12 hours... The horror....I'd love to have a house again. Since moving from Ontario I've only had apartments, which sucks. Vancouver just isn't that affordable :(

friend
(frnd)
n.
A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.
A person whom one knows; an acquaintance.
A person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause; a comrade.
One who supports, sympathizes with, or patronizes a group, cause, or movement: friends of the clean air movement.
Friend A member of the Society of Friends; a Quaker.
tr.v. Archaic friend·ed, friend·ing, friends
To befriend.[Middle English, from Old English frond. See pr- in Indo-European Roots.]
friendless adj.
friendless·ness n.
Word History: A friend is a lover, literally. The relationship between Latin amcus “friend” and am “I love” is clear, as is the relationship between Greek philos “friend” and phile “I love.” In English, though, we have to go back a millennium before we see the verb related to friend. At that time, frond, the Old English word for “friend,” was simply the present participle of the verb fron, “to love.” The Germanic root behind this verb is *fr-, which meant “to like, love, be friendly to.” Closely linked to these concepts is that of “peace,” and in fact Germanic made a noun from this root, *frithu-, meaning exactly that. Ultimately descended from this noun are the personal names Frederick, “peaceful ruler,” and Siegfried, ”victory peace.” The root also shows up in the name of the Germanic deity Frigg, the goddess of love, who lives on today in the word Friday, “day of Frigg,” from an ancient translation of Latin Veneris dis, “day of Venus.”

Moving wasn't so bad. I only came with a suitcase anyway. I had my boxes shipped (only 10 total, including my computer boxes). Piece of cake...
Mmm... cake. I'm super hungry. Quick! Someone make me some breakfast.

I've moved 5 times in the past year and a half.
To make things worse, I move to Tampa, and I must say its much less than perfect.
Looks like I could bring my average up to 6 in two years

I hate moving. Been moving at least once a year or 2 times a year (with my parents, army) until I got a permanent job and stay with my friends. Now I'm moving again to a new apartment. I hate packing stuff.
I went to more than 14 schools.
20 times of moving from places to places. I hate following my dad (army).. Anyone from military bground will face this :P

My mother was an army brat. I'm fortunate to have a hippy for a father, I suppose.
When I helped my mother move it was pouring rain out. We got quite good at the truck to door dash.
I'm not moving very far, just across the city (Vancouver) and we've got movers, but just for the big stuff. I hate movers. They break my stuff, which is exactly why they wont be coming withing 10 feet of the TV/stereo/computer. Bastages.
