I was just told by unnamed hosting company that their perl formmail script that they supply on the server is better than a php script I found online.
t or f.
They also told me that if I used a "non-mydomain.com" (we want this form to be submitted to one of our clients) in the hidden recipient field of the form, it would not work.
t or f.
I was then told that we (the host) do not have time to tutorial you on how to build your website and you would be much better off going to a place like scriptarchive.com for all of your form building info.
Buckyball is angry right now.

just use matts formmail, its a piece of piss to configure... some hosts make you use a shared cgi-bin and you have to ask them what you want adding to the @referrers to stop people exploiting scripts for spam.

[1] neither/both
If you are more familiar with PHP, then PHP is better. If you're more familiar with perl, then perl is better[2] true
if it's their script, i doubt that they're lying to you.find another host. if you're not happy. if you're paying less than $20/month I wouldn't expect much help. and don't be angry

they're liying. formmail is oldschool.
Any php form script is better than that piec....er, script.

you probably had the misconception that they give a fuck.
Either that or you had the misguided belief that 'support' actually meant support.

What host do you use?
With service like that I want to make sure I never use them.

Sounds like a host that starts with Inter and ends with Land.
Unfortunately, I work on a site hosted by this evil host and I can't have a simple formmail since their backend is so unstable.

no doubt, my job uses interland for one of our sites for some reason and their service sucks. We have an older account and I dont even have php on that one, I had a problem with permissions resetting on a windows server, according to them, you dont have to set permissions, but you have to RESET them. fucking lame. I hate them.

There's only a couple of variables you need to define in formmail so it should be really easy...
