I'm trying to step through an XML document recursively and for some reason it stops after it reaches the deepest level in the XML. I think I might have been staring at it too long and now I can't find what the problem is. Any help is MUCH appreciated!

well i think you should name your nodes differently. it makes it easier to read and debug. if the root is named nav, and the childs are namded nav, and it's childs are nav, it gets a little weird.

your XML is not that long... a problem with your function stepXml() function, maybe?

If I'm not mistaken you problem is when you call the stepXml function after parsing the "cd/dvd" node. It's trying to parse cd/dvd's child nodes, but they don't have a node name = to "nav", so it just hangs.
hope that makes sense...

Yeah, I know the problem is somewhere in the step function that's doing the recursion. But that's where I'm stuck so far. Seems like the recursion is only going so far then stopping.

Check each step using typeof and length. I had a simalar problem, i just had to go thru it step by step.
