I just bought a new hard drive 200gb but my ATA card is not able to read the whole 200gb So I think I'll get a portable case for the drive does anyone know which would best for video storage or a cheaper solution?

Which Mac?
Usually switching the disk jumper settings will fix the problem with the whole disk space not being seen by the Mac.

I'm no expert... but I bought a Seagate Barracuda 120GB ATA/IDE whatever it is... for my Quicksilver G4.... The Mac didnt see the full capacity, so I searched for tech support articles about it... and found Seagate had a guide to the jumper settings, I just had to move the little metal loop across to a different set of pins on the drive.
I think i moved it to 'Cable Select'..and then the position in that big ribbon cable determines which drive is master or slave.
So go Googling, or to your drive manufacturers website to check the pin settings (or even the user guide?)
